Not to be a narcissist, but sometimes I have to wallow in my own cleverness, and I'm so proud of these lines I wrote.

“I have finished meeting with Éomer and Imrahil and Gandalf,” Aragorn said, after a moment of quiet. “We have made plans for the days to come, and I would speak to you of them.”

“Speak, then,” said Legolas. “But it matters not what you say. You know already that I am beside you, even if you decided to storm the Black Gate itself.”

“Ah.” Aragorn seemed a bit taken aback. “Well, that is… particularly good to hear."

(it's because Aragorn's going to tell him that the plan is to storm the Black Gate)

(The lines are from this fic if you happen to be interested, but be warned that it's a longish Hurt No Comfort fic about rejection and despair, so...yanno.)

In fact, Legolas not being like Galadriel is a Significant Plot Point in the overall story... ;)

Heh, yep. I should have said "like Faramir," because if he has it he doesn't seem to be actively aware of or controlling it, Galadriel-style; it's more like Faramir's "somehow - no idea how! - I know my brother's dead and floating down a river on a boat" sort of deal.

Oh, no definitely - mostly I just meant it as a moment of hilarious dramatic irony, but the Galadriel point was actually a not-very-good reference to the fic I linked, haha.

Though it's very interesting you should bring up Faramir, since I'm listening to the audiobooks and just got to the part where Faramir talks about his vision of Boromir!

(I must confess that Aragorn drives me CRAZY as a person, but something I really love in the books - and love to see played with in fic - is how 100% devoted to him Legolas and Gimli are. They would do ANYTHING for him, and it is really really sweet to watch even though I personally would NOT.)
