(no subject)

So...my landlord knocked on my door today very concerned about the adhesive attaching my Black Lives Matter sign to my door - worried that it was going to damage the door. Then he also expressed his concern about this maybe not being the right time to have the sign up... it could make people upset... I said that it can also make people feel welcome; he assured me Black Lives Matter are Marxists (which I didn't dispute, because while it's not the case for all of them, it is the case for some, and frankly I don't disagree)... anyway. He was clearly more bothered by the content of the sign than the adhesive, but the only emotion he expressed was concern, and the only thing he explicitly asked was about the adhesive. So in the end I said that I didn't think it was hurting anyone for me to have the sign up but I appreciated him letting me know about the adhesive and that I would take it down until I could find a safer way to put it up. Luckily, I have putty already ordered and on the way, so I will use that when it gets here.

...Hopefully I don't get kicked out of my apartment.

*edit: ah HA! A solution! I propped it up in the window instead, so nothing is stuck to anything!
