Gratitude Journal: 4/22/2020
Apr. 22nd, 2020 09:59 pm1. The kitty does not have a thyroid problem. They didn't take a full blood scan so it's possible that there is something wrong with him that they just don't know about . . . but it's also possible that it's a fluke, or something small that can be fixed with the couple of steps they suggested to me. I'm surprised by how much lighter and more relieved I feel, even though it's not a full answer.
2. This scare did open up a chance for me to have a real, honest talk with my dad about some of the family things that have been upsetting me related to the cat. I don't know if anything is fixed, but he did really listen to me and respond thoughtfully, and I feel like we've opened the door for good future conversations. I no longer feel the need to burst free of the family in a fiery supernova anymore. :)
(Still not happy with my stepmom, though.)
3. Virtual "rehearsal" with my flute group, which we haven't gotten to do in several weeks. One of the people in our group is making a duet app, where you can record different parts of a song and merge them together, so we experimented with that. I don't know if you could call it an unqualified success, but it was a fun time, a cool concept, and really nice to see everyone's faces again.
