At least if it was Fro/Sam you could go "Yeaaaaaah, well, it's not L/G but I'm down with that." But ARALAS NOOOOOO if you must put him with an elf (elves) make it Elladan and/or Elrohir, who he actually grew up with/went out hunting orcs with/etc. But better yet, put him with one of the Rangers. Like Halbarad, "dour-handed ranger." Yeah, let's see those dour hands at work. ANYTHING BUT ARALAS

Yeah! I’m totally down with queer readings of F/S, too—I’m picky about my fic, but it’s RIGHT THERE in the text. (Heh, now I too am intrigued by the dour hands.)
