My characters just got... arcs! Like, actual developmental paths they will follow throughout the story! Like real authors' characters!

...now I just have to write them.

Awesome! All my arcs are fully accidental, but it's a lovely feeling when you notice them. Warm glow of smugness, and so forth.

Also! Monster Mirkwood fic? Eyes emojis . . . A fic about Mirkwood monsters, or a fic about Mirkwood that is a monster?

A fic about Mirkwood that is an absolute monster. I wrote a bunch of connected Legolas/Gimli works according to personal headcanon, which involved giving Legolas an older sister. But then I fridged her wife for "narrative" reasons (aka I was a new writer and I had too many OCs to handle already and I needed an excuse not to write another one), but then her wife was like HEY WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME and now I'm writing Legolas's sister's entire life story, which also coincides with a fairly significant portion of Mirkwood and the need to develop characterizations for ALL SORTS of minor canon characters plus substantial OCs and AHHHHHHHH I'M DYING. basically.

The arcs happened accidentally, but I was stuck last night and trying to figure out where to go from there, so I thought that maybe freewriting a bit would help, and then I realized that there was Stuff There and got excited and that helped me write another scene yay! Now back to stuckland.
