Based on a prompt by TAFKAB formerly in the 2000GigolasFics collection. Legolas and Gimli have secretly been in a relationship since a chance meeting in Mirkwood several years before, but don’t dare to let their families or companions know about it, for fear of being forced apart. After all this time, they’ve become very good actors – but maybe not good enough to last through a journey with seven companions who are quickly catching on – or their deepening fondness for one another.

My first piece for the fandomtrumpshate auction this year, for PT_Tucker. I’m not entirely happy with the way it turned out, but hopefully it’s an enjoyable enough read!

. . . My goodness, that was a ride. I loved their sort of fragileness, how it seemed they were trying to keep it secret partially to keep it in that hanging-state where it was separate from the rest of their lives.

Odd question: Can I write fic of this? Gosh, there's just so much potential. First meetings . . .
